Emponas Rhodes

Embonas is located 52 km SW. of Rhodes (city) on the slopes of Attaviros of the highest mountain of the island (1,250 meters). The inhabitants are mainly engaged in animal husbandry and viticulture, which is why there are many modern and traditional wineries. The area is famous for its wines and is known for the local varieties ``Athiri`` and ``Amorgiano``. The wine festival takes place in Embonas and is celebrated in August.

We aim to improve the quality of our wines with constant investment and experimentation to the very best vinification procedures.

Our winery

Our winery in Emponas of Rhodes, is only three years old. However, the family's preoccupation with the vineyards began three generations ago and continues to this day, where we make our own wines. Our goal is to produce high quality wines, in order to highlight the dynamics of the rhodian vineyard and consequently the rhodian wine that in recent years seems to be changing level.

    • Ein Familienbetrieb, der traditionelle Produkte von Rhodos verkauft. Angeschlossen ist auch ein kleines Museum, wo man Trachten und dgl. ansehen kann. Produkte können verkostet werden. Leider sind wir im Rahmen einer Busreise vorbeigekommen und hatten nicht allzuviel Zeit uns in Ruhe umzusehen. Aber grundsätzlich ist ein Besuch zu empfehlen.
